This practice-oriented guide combines the latest knowledge in water quality specifications and in probabilistic risk analysis, for a unique tool to identify and evaluate local and regional environmental hazards from water pollution. Both groundwater, riverine water, and (coastal) seawater pollution is covered here, including case studies for each of these three major categories. In terms of methodology, risk identification, quantification, and management is addressed, using various mathematical approaches such as decision theory, utility theory, fuzzy set theory, and risk-based multi-criteria decision analysis.
