Political parties and electoral strategy: the development of party organization in East Asia

A study of processes of political party formation and change in new democracies. This book argues that to understand party organizations we need to focus on politicians' electoral strategies. The framework is used to analyze political party development in the new democracies of East Asia (South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Indonesia.). OLLI HELLMANN is Lecturer in Asian Political Economy at the University of Durham, UK.
