Human development in south Asia 2009: trade and human development in south Asia
Countries need to trade with other countries to earn income for its goods andservices. They also need to trade to upgrade workers' knowledge and skills. Thus trade is supposed to increase both production and productivity of a country and thereby reduce poverty.
