This is the second, updated edition of the very successful first edition by these co-authors. It contains new up-to-date information on the field and has been expanded by several chapters, including one on multidimensional gas chromatography and another on sampling methods, as well as special injection techniques and fast gas chromatography. The new edition would still have the same goals as the first, though. As stated in the preface of the first edition: We have attempted to write a brief introduction to GC following the objectives for titles in this series. It should appeal to readers with varying levels of education and emphasizes a practical, applied approach to the subject.
