Motta, Sara C.
Nilsen, Alf
Popular struggles in the global south suggest the need for the development ofnew and politically enabling categories of analysis, and new ways of understanding contemporary social movements. This book shows how social movements in Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East politicize development in an age of neoliberal hegemony. SARA C. MOTTA Lecturer in Latin American and Comparative Politics at the School of Politics and International Relations, University of Nottingham, UK. Her research focus is the politics of subaltern resistance, with particular reference to Latin America. ALF GUNVALD NILSEN Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Sociology, University of Bergen, Norway.
