There is an absence of a textbook or a reference book in performance evaluation that treats all techniques of performance evaluation in a balanced manner and that considers computer and telecommunications systems together as the issues, in general, are inseparable and much related to each other. Most of the available textbooks or reference books treat either performance evaluation of computer systems or performance evaluation of computer communications /telecommunications systems, but not both together. Furthermore, all available books emphasize one technique of performance evaluation, while this book will treat alltechniques of performance evaluation of computers, networks and telecommunications systems in a balanced manner. No such treatment has been given in a single textbook.
