His research is concerned with critical approaches to international political economy and post-communist transition. He is the currentconvenor of the BISA International Political Economy working group (IPEG) andis on the editorial board of the journal 'Capital & Class'. IAN BRUFF Lecturer in European and International Politics at the University of Manchester, UK. He has published widely on European varieties of capitalism, globalization, and social (especially historical materialist) theory. He is the author of 'Culture and Consensus in European Varieties of Capitalism: A 'Common Sense' Analysis'. HUW MACARTNEY Lecturer in International Political Economy at the University of Manchester, UK. Previously, he was Hallsworth Fellow in Political Economy. He is convenor of the Global Political Economy research cluster at Manchester. His research focuses on the IPE of finance and space.
