This edited volume aims to demonstrate the potential of a more explicitly comparative approach by presenting a series of interconnected case studies on a topic that has attracted a significant number of theorizing and modelling in political science. Thematically, this project focuses on the contemporary Kurdish politics in Middle East, with particular interest in Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran (which are recognized as four parts of Kurdistan). Methodologically, the approach is explicitly comparative and analytical, and driven by a set of key questions related to internal dynamics that are addressed through theoretical models and cases.
